Hurricane Irene

updating the blog for this hurricane. Weather forecasters are comparing the potential effects of this hurricane to Hurricane Isabel in 2003.

We went thru that hurricane, having just moved into our apartment here in Suffolk from Portsmouth. I'm happy to say that we weathered that hurricane a lot better than we would have if we had been in Portsmouth. Since that time sevral more trees surrounding the complex have been taken down, so hopefuly we won't have as many tres falling as we did then. But even then only one car got hit by a tree! (not ours!!!)
We have all our supplies and everything is ready. The car is safe in it's garage this time around, and now all we have to do is hunker down and wait it out.

I remember that car being totally smashed... how unfortunate! But it seems a lot of people have wised up since Isabel and cut down many trees (Uncle Joel included!)
