Starting another quilt

While i'm waiting on my sashing fabric for the Civil War quilt i pulled out my next project.

I've had lots of fat quarters saved up from the line "Forever Friends" that came out years ago, when 'talking fabrics' came into vogue.
My plans originally had the fabric group going into an applique quilt, but during June of this year i realistically decided that i prefer patchwork to applique. so out went the applique patterns and along came "Happiness" (i love that name!)

"Happiness" (ps. now called "Happiness #1") is a simple 4 square pattern designed by Deborah Jacobs and published @2007 in the quilt book "Simply Done" by Gathering Friends Quilt Shop. http://www.gatheringfriendsquiltshop.com/ There are a lot of good patterns in this one!

The pattern is fat quarter friendly and features bright, sunny, folded yellow squares, easy construction, and smiles. At least i was smiling as i cut and organized my squares this morning.

While i was cutting i was also busy reading the different saying about friends on the fabric.
"Plant seeds of kindness, gather friends", 'The flowers of true friendship never fade", "Friends give a heart full of happiness", etc. Now you know with quotes like these this fabric just HAD to end up in a quilt called "Happiness"!
